This calendar is an independent, non-profit project designed by
Sophie T Lin and Hafiz Onitolo and brought to life with talented friends. Each month features an original pencil artwork contributed by a different artist, riso printed to embrace the special characteristics of drawing by hand.
All profits from this calendar will be donated to Restless Beings - a grassroots, international, human rights organisation and UK charity working to advance the rights and well-being of some of the world's most marginalised communities.
The Designers
Sophie Lin
I'm a Footwear Designer with a passion for craft, health and circular textiles. I love learning new ways to tell stories through design and I have been dreaming of this calendar for a while. I am so pleased to bring it to life with Restless Beings, Hafiz my collaborator, and all the contributing artists. Thank you so much for buying, reading, using or appreciating this project!
Hafiz Onitolo
I’m a London-based designer and artist working across hands-on, craft-led making, industrial design, facillitation and community-driven social justice. It’s been a great time working on the calendar and making it a reality. Thanks Sophie for asking me to get involved. Thank you whoever’s reading this for supporting this calendar and helping us raise money for Restless Beings - it means a lot to us and the artists involved. PageMasters
PageMasters is a Lewisham-based Riso studio run by a small team focused on creative and community publishing.
Riso printing, developed in 1980s Japan, uses a stencil master wrapped around an ink drum to push soy or rice-based inks onto paper. It works like a mix between screen printing and photocopying, using a cold, low-energy process that creates bold, slightly imperfect layers unlike standard digital printer inks.
You can find Justin and Jordan in their SET studio above Nat West on Lewisham High St - they run drop-in Riso workshops!
